Marie Guerrier

Born in 1992 in Paris, Marie Guerrier comes from a family of artists for four generations. At the age of 17, with a scientific baccalaureate in her pocket and ready to push the door of the grandes écoles, she finally opted for a year at the Ecole Boulle before entering the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d’Art. There, she discovered metal and explored all scales, from goldsmithing to monumental sculpture.

Attracted by design, sensitive to the Bauhaus movement, the artist now established in Bordeaux, places geometry at the heart of her work. Fascinated by these forms of universal and timeless beauty, present in nature, in the infinitely small as well as in the cosmos, Marie Guerrier seeks harmony and balance. She likes to combine materials, associating wood, ceramics or nylon thread with metal.

Captivated by the castle of Charleval, this place full of history, the artist exhibits her very graphic and poetic works which incite to touch and where her jewels become “sculptures to be worn”.

Château Charleval accueille l’exposition « Seasons of heaven », qui réunit les deux artistes, Aurélia Rocher et Joanna Cutri. Céramiques et toiles contemporaines se répondent et questionnent notre lien à la Mémoire et la Nature.
