Jean-François Coadou

A self-taught artist, Jean-François Coadou was born in the Tarn region of France in 1948, in the middle of factories. Metal speaks to him. But before exploring sculpture, it is through drawing and painting that he approaches art. He took courses at the Beaux-Arts, worked with clay in a corner of his garage, with wood or resin, but it was with metal that he revealed himself. Teacher by day, artist by night, this obsessive sculptor will continue to create, against all odds, with joy and determination.

His Silencieuses have found a field of expression to their measure in the park of the castle of Charleval. No useless chatter or game of seduction, these massive, powerful sculptures reveal all their depth here. Resulting from a work around madness, these horizontal works place us in a position of “observation”. In a cry from the heart, they call out, question and “give to look at what nobody wants to see”.

Château Charleval accueille l’exposition « Seasons of heaven », qui réunit les deux artistes, Aurélia Rocher et Joanna Cutri. Céramiques et toiles contemporaines se répondent et questionnent notre lien à la Mémoire et la Nature.
